how to breed guppies

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It won't be freezing in that tank, as it would be sitting above 2 heated tanks and I can insulate the sides, back and top if needed when it got real cold outside...Maybe mid to low 50s at worst.

gambusia...aka mosquito fish?(googled the name) I wanted to get a couple for a pond I have out front-something small enough so my raccoon population won't be as attracted to it...This would kill 2 birds with one stone as it were...Or am I off base with the species?

i breed guppies before in a 2ft.

I had a starter kit if you like of ~30 guppies and i quickly had a stable growing population. Now starting again my starter kit is 1M 3F.
Females pop out a fry once every 20-25 days, it's going to be a long long time....

how do you tell guppies sex

females are usually bigger and fat with black gravid spot before their tail. makes are much prettier with more color and long frilly tales. they are usually kinda separated already at most fish stores.

their bottom fin is a dead giveaway. if its straight back its a male if it is v shaped and down all the time its a female.

I have a 55g put 10 females, 1 male and 1 angel (but he isn't so angel); but they haven't produce nothing. Could the angel eat every single baby if they had produce any?

Your other guppies could also be eating them if the Angel isn't getting to them.

Angel's are hilarious to watch eat the guppies, and this has inspired me to start up my Ten gallon Guppy breeding tank again, I think I'll buy some feeders, one or two fancy males, and selectively breed them into a supper feeder guppy, muhahahaha, but sounds like a fun way to spend some time, don't you agree?
