How to bring nitrate down

Yeah couldnt do a drop but Im going to start doing 30 percent water change every 3 day

Try googling it as I recall reading a article on high nitrate levels and stingrays. I'll try and find it for u. In the article stingrays can tolerate quite high levels of nitrate but it's not recommended.

It all comes back to stress on a fish, bad water can often result in too much stress therefor a sick ray. Clean water is a preventitive measure for the health of ur fish.

Other things can cause stress as well so its important ur water us clean. And 100-120ppm sounds too high to me

oh my god are you for real????80-100 thats good water managment!!!! your rays WOULD of been stressed and god only knows what effects it would have on newborn pups in the long term?
if i ran my systems on this level i would just pack up and keep neons!!!god help us!!
 
right! i use fluid bed filters on all our tanks and ponds, these are simply canasters 3/4 filled with loose sand! the surface area of filtration is massive and before these were used had to do many water changes during a week
now with these in place i water change ONCE yes ONCE every two to three weeks!!!!! and never get high nitrate levels

we use them on our koi pools also we can have ten big koi in a pool and run a fluid bed for 4-6 weeks and then add another 10+ big koi with no effect on water quality! they are sold in the uk for overstocked ponds and work! so made the move and used on ray tanks with amazing results
infact i have a 6 x 2 x 2 that runs on one 1200 external and a fluid bed filter on the return this also has very low levels at 10 or below
they dont have to be big either TMC do some nice small ones that can be hidden in stands etc and do the same job cheap too

yes buddy, i use the 1000 on 6 x 2 x 2 and 1500 on all bigger tanks try one you wont go wrong or google

cloverleaf fluid bed filters

these are large scale i use on indoor pools and koi ponds
