True, you can place it above though. I probably will end up using a sump so the water flows down instead of up, but it still generally the same concept except the pipe moves and the water exists at the bottom.

I still haven't made one of these filters to full scale, but I will be once I make my 900 gallon pond.

i think i might have the same thing aswell , thinkk the tank will be drilled.
