It's okay, the FH can declare a war in the tank later on and the last one standing will sign it's own treaty.

haha can you imagine!
taking them from horrible condition
to worse

If you think that's far, your in Malaysia am I correct? You shouldn't have any problem finding some of the top quality FH there. Shipping shouldn't be that much of a trouble compare to us here would it? :D
Yes, there are lots of quality fhs around but they cost a lot too & not exactly the one that I had in mind especially when it comes to $$ fh..
I'm just trying my luck & hoping some of my low grades will at least turn out decent looking or more..

If I were you I'd keep fh2 and trade the rest in. Flowerhorn2 is the most unique to me. I don't have a lot of advice as where to find quality flowerhorns in Malaysia but as the others said you're a lot closer to quality flowerhorns than most of us. Try joining up on flowerhorncraze.com and asking the members there to help you out. There are a lot of people on that site from the Philippines and Thailand who could probably ship you a fish. There may even be someone who is local to you on there.

found a link for you here is a Malaysian section on there it looks like there might be a few people who could help you out

Thanks for the link, Camp.. I do visit there often..
I'm not keen on paying hundreds for a fish unless it's truly unique / something that catches my attention..
So for now, I'll stick to cheap fh & hope some will turn up nice.. That's where the fun part is, right? Never knowing what the fh will turn into.. :)
Btw, I'll be keeping FH 2 & wait for one/two months before deciding on the rest..

I will tell you this, if you want cheap FH to turn into a great looking FH. It is best to buy lots of them 50+ at one time. Remember that for FH, not every one of em will come out to be the same. One is better than the other. And only the top 10% or so will be it's best it can be. If you get like 5 or so only then it is like throwing darts blind folded. Unless being known for a fact that it is great quality, the price will rise higher than the usual.

Get ahold of the right seller. I too prefer not to spend the money on expensive fish I'd rather raise fry because they're cheaper and I get a better variety. You just need to find the right seller/breeder and the right strain. I haven't paid more than $10 for most of my flowerhorns and I have lots of nice ones. If I were you'd I'd be looking for locals who breed. Since there are so many quality fish around you I'm sure somebody is willing to hook you up with something nice for a fair price.

I don't have that much space.. lol
Most I can do is just replace old fh with new ones..
I realize that it's all luck now but have some faith now, no? :grinno:

Yea, I'm waiting for the right fish & the right timing to breed my own fh..
I heard from a friend that there's a place that sells nice fh.. I'll go there & have a look whenever possible..

Not all gill curls come from deformity. Actually, most gill curls occurs because of very poor water quality.
I just bought another fh from the lfs & this one has gill curl too..
I did not cut it's gill cover off like I did the last time with Harvey so I hope you are right & it heals by itself.. I don't want to have an aquarium full of deformed fhs (now I have 2 gill curls & 1 half tail).. LMAO

I see a lot of ghost shrimp there, they are going to become food later on. :D
Yea, I spoil them too much..
& in 1 month period, my previous fhs have really grown a lot.. they look bigger out of water.. Even my half-tailed fh(was pretty tiny back then) looks 1.5x bigger than the newly acquired fh..

I'll grow them out till they reach 4~5" & then only decide..
Btw, they have put on some weight.. looks bigger now compared to the first time I got them.. I'd say 3" each except for the new one(roughly 1.8")..

I Live In Sg.. Hw About I Come N Meet U To Tk A Look At Ur Fishes.. Throw In Some Bichirs To add It Off.. They Will Look Splendid Together.. :D
