  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I got 2 110 aquaclear and 1 fx6. mybe ima try to get algae scrubber to lower the nitrate. I got crushed coreal in the tank but after a few month it lower bak again
That’s lie. We suggested it in the other thread no more then a week ago. And you argued agaiNst it. Now your saying you added it for a month and ur ph went down again? All sorts of holes in what you are saying

how did I hijack other people thread when this thread is mines? u come in here and start flaming. how do u know I don't have 2 aquaclear and 1 fx6? I don't even think u read all the post in the other thread. they suggest do more wc or less feeding and I did. this thread was about my fish condition and people ask whats my water para is. don't come in here and start flaming people out of no where

Btw, how big is the fish itself???

And 50% water change every 2 weeks is pretty bad... i would say at least 50% per week...

um my fish is around 6" sometimes, most of the time I don't have time to do every week that's why im planning to get a algea scrubber so my nitrate will be lower within the water change schedule.

My fault I just saw that this is your thread. Combining both threads and what info you’ve given in both threads it sounds like you need to clean the filters more often. You clean one filter once a month and the fish seems to go on cycles of good and bad health every month. Cleaning the filters with old water from the tank will eliminate the killing of beneficial bacteria.

It doesn’t sound like you lessened the feedings when ur feeding 2 every 2 days when before you were feeding 1 every day. Also doing water changes once every 2 weeks is less then what you started off with. You stated you were doing one every week and now you changed it to once every 2 weeks. Do you mean 2 times every week?

Again it sounds odd that one aro is producing more waste then 2 ac110 and fx6 can handle which is why something is missing. There’s a major hole somewhere in the story that I cannot put together. I have an aro in tank smaller than yours with less filtration and 6-7 tankmates. Feeding is different as I don’t use shrimp but pellets. My water quality stays good as long as I’m changing my water weekly and cleaning my sponges every week as well.

Again I apologize for saying you hijacked this thread. I did not noticed that you had 2 problems. One with the fish and one with the water parameters. I’m guessing once you get the water parameters under control the fish will fix itself.

And what you are describing with your fish doesn’t sound like tb. Tb starts with a cyst somewhere on the body that grows and eventually pops. At least that’s what I’ve seen when I google images. What you describes almost sounds like it goes hand in hand with your nitrate problem. So going back to the filters, if you change them in the old water during a water change the bacteria won’t be effected. Currently you’re cleaning them once every 3 months (1 every month and you have 3 of them). If one of them is clogged with a bunch of junk then they become nitrate factories (stated in other thread). So what could be happening is that you clean one filter and the other 2 are spewing out nitrates. Just a guess though since our tanks seem exactly the same except for the cleaning of filters and different type of food (shrimp vs pellets).

Hope that helps. Sorry for not double checking the thread before accusing you of hijacking. No malice intended.

Just read more on Tb. Looks like it can change the way the fish swims and bend the spine because of growths. However I didn’t see anything on it fixing itself on its own and repeating the same thing over and over. Pictures or videos of the problem may help.

after u guys told me to feed less. I did twice a week which is 1 shrimp per week. I just cut it in half and feed it not 2 whole shrimp per week. hope that helps. I don't know why my nitrate is that high too that's why I asked in here. these photo is a few weeks back, right now it just went back to regular eating and spine is straight, only his grill is curled up but it should recover soon

^ hate to say it but that fish looks miserable based on those pics...

ya my first time I thought it gonna die then after few week it went back to normal. then it just on and off. that's why im asking what kind of disease it have.

Ok since no one else is chiming in...I’ll give it another go.

Looking at the pics his nose looks really damaged. And barbels all missing. Did you get him like that?

How many times has he been “sick” and recovered?

If I’m right in my theory, this is due to jumping. Would explain the missing barbels, going vertical, and being able to recover from it. If it’s due to jumping then just find out what’s causing him to jump and eliminate the problem. Mine jumps when there’s food left over on top...when really hungry he’ll jump out and try to intercept the food and sometimes will get the top.
