  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ooooooo

have no clue about that

looks like i have to order the roller, no luck finding anything around here. which is odd, im probably not looking in the right places, o well.

i just want to start already

I dont know man I look at a fishtank like a glass bottom boat,Instead of keeping water out of the boat you keep it in the boat,Its just the way I was taught...besides they wont hurt, just extend your project 1day.you could even glue strips of wood in the shape of a triangle to the corners.you would have a little 45 in the corner to lay your glass up on.see what Im saying?

the 45degree angle doesnt sound like a bad idea at all, do they sell wood like that?

its what this thread was for, more ideas the better

When I make my tank its going to be like this

Iv never seen 45 degree cut, just take a table saw or circular saw and cut it.

Just a column, im aiming for a round about design where water goes around and around and around.

I think that putting 45's in the corners isn't nesassary...just means you'll have twice as many corners to laminate...Just get the proper corner tool and you'll be fine...

A tank is nothing like a boat...boats displace water and have different pressures all the time...
A tank will have most of it's outward pressure at the bottom and progressivley less toward the top...ALL of it static...

believe me man im not going to put a 40hp outboard on the back of my fishtank and go trolling for marlin,Im just saying that a fillet or a 45 in the corners wont hurt,

honestly zennzzo i had no intentions of doing that!!!! more work then needed as i see it.

Im sticking to the original plans iv been keeping with you

Im ordering the roller and corner tool (just a different kind of roller)

Well in the mean time, i have to do a lot of sanding to the tank where i cut out the viewing hole and what not, and some other prep work. Least that will keep me busy until i get the roller and corner tool, gives me more time to.

for the viewing window (where its cut out) should i fiberglass over the lip or just straight up and cut it? like i would to the top of the tank?
