How to fix my 135? Wit pic!

-All the silicone from brace should be scraped off with razor blade....cleaned right down to the glass....

-area cleaned with acetone, from any oil.

-re-apply new aquarium silicone, clamp front to back for at least 2-3 days, mind you the silicone tube will say 2-5 days.

You might want to pull the brace out, and do both side, considering the silicone is the same age a both ends, and you might come home few days after repair, and find the other end let go too....

my ornate bichir and pbass have been chillin in this temporary tank


the bracer in the middle is only unglued on one side.

thats the glued side, u can see how its positioned under the black frame

heres the same pic of the unglued side when there was water in the tank.. u can see that it cant reach the glass.

finally heres the unglued side without water. u can see how the bracer is actually TOO close now, imma need to shove it in there and silicone it wit this stuff

have you thought about using epoxy instead of silicone? I think it would be a much stronger bond.

do they sell epoxy at homedepot? i'll pick some up if its easy to work with..

yah in a small syringe tubes, made by permitex... good stuff i have like a box sitting at home that i swiped from work.

This might sound kind of "ghetto" but how about a metal frame around it. I mean you could use two peices of angle iron with holes drilled in each of the ends connected together by threaded rods on each end. Kind of like this. You could powder coat it to help prevent rust or use stainless steel. Cover it with wood trim or build a nice canopy to cover it.
