so its been about 2 days since i applied the caulk and i'll be putting in water straight from the hose into my tank pretty soon. is there an all-in-one bottle wit
chemicals in it that will make my water ok for fish?

i do not want to cycle wit goldfish again.......

Just use what you use for your weekly water changes.

For your filter, you did take steps to keep the filter alive right? :nilly: Contrary to what is said here and other fish sites, shutting down a filter will not cause it to become sterile. It just doesn't have the robust population of bacteria that it once did. It will grow back much quicker than during the original cycle. Just add part of your fish back to the tank and test for ammonia after a day or two. Keep testing every several days. If the filter is doing its job, slowly add more fish.

i ended up using silicone rubber "aquarium sealant" made by perfecto manufacturing.

IT WORKED!
