how to get rid of blue heron eating my pond fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've seen metal grids work very well at keeping herons out of a pond.
I used to be at this community garden renting land for farming. There was a goldfish pond near . One day a heron came and ate all or most of their goldfish.
They covered the whole pond with a metal grid qnd no more pesty heron.

NO GEESE! it would be worse ur pond would get super dirty and you would caonsstantly step in poo... and it wouldnt fix youre heron problem

id go with marshmallow+ slingshot idea

Agreed with the marshmallows and slingshot but... how about one of these for shooting marshmallows?

I would add a longer barrel then the one listed here, longer barrel = further range

I would so go with that... but then again I'd probably try and figure out what else I can fire out of it... at that point I might as well just buy a real gun.

You can't shoot blue herons if you get caught by the Department of Fish and Game you will get fined and possibly thrown in federal prison they are protected by law. Trust me on the Department of Fish and Game my friend and I were fishing at our local lake and he had two bass on his stringer in the water so he could take pictures them release them. A Game Warden came down and saw the fish and wrote him a ticket for two undersized bass even though he wasn't going to keep them he just wanted pictures of what he caught. He explained to the Game Warden the reason they were on the stringer and the Game Warden said you can't even put them on the stringer, because that means to them your going to keep them. Anyways to make a long story short the ticket had nothing on it, but a court date. So when he went to court the total fine was $980.00  for two undersized fish. Luckly he was able to get it reduced to $150.00 only. So find a way to get rid of the bird without even touching the bird with anything including marshmellows could poke his damn eye out and get into trouble....LOL
