How to I get a License to own an illegal fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So lets say I know some people who have blacks and they want to sell to me. Should I just buy it(price and size don't matter for the sake of the arguement.) or should I try to get the permit. Plus, Ive known him for years and years, so I know I wouldn't tell on me.

So you think it would be easier to just buy the fish?

Or

Try and get the permit and then the fish? The permit seems like a lot of work.

Also, how would you be caught with fish like that? Do PO know illeagal and illeagal fish? Just another question in the eyes of Andrew.

It's not so much the Peace Officers you have to worry about, it's the other government officials and agencies.

If you're contemplating performing an illegal act. DON'T solicit a recommendation from this site. That's simply not smart and places the site in an awkward position.

it couldn't hurt to just try the city hall route and see how many hoops you have to jump through, then if it's to tough, work on alternate options

Yep, and those guys have more say over the matter of your privacy than a law enforcement officer.

No I didn't mean that! lol. It was just a thought that I wrote on accident. Im serious. Like when your writing and you hear someone say something and your not paying attention to what your writeng and then you see it on the paper. Sort of like that. But I will most likely do the permit thing.

Actually, it would probably be a fish and game issue, and they are the most powerful law enforcement in the state... Also, they tend to be a tad jumpy since everyone they meet from August (dove, bow) thru April and early May (end of small game is in march, turkey starts late march/early april) is likely to be armed with either a rifle, shotgun, or bow/arrow. (hunting).

Assuming you did "just get one", you'll want to never post photos of it on the net, show it to someone you don't trust absolutely, talk about it, etc - Which means you'll never really get to show it off and enjoy it.

Your not an idiot at all!

lol. Thats a really good point too.

They're not going to give you a permit, to put it frankly. Unless your and educational instution or such, they will not give you a permit. The fines are heavy, my alligator in california cariied a $250,000 fine and ten years in prison. But since I willfully and properly relinquished control of the animal under my own will (instead of releasing or selling illegally) I simply was ban from owning reptiles for six years. A slap on the wrist.
