How to keep aquarium clean

I have a tank w/ all black sand bottom. Whatever the fish do not eat after feeding remains on bottom and looks bad.. I try not to over feed. Other than vacuuming every fee days are here any other solutions,

A net and clean hand always does the trick unless u have 59$ for a eheim electric vac.

I have 3 of them in a small 15L and they do a fantastic job of keeping my sand nice and clean, plus theyre fun to watch.

Eheim vac is a nice thing to have around.

How about adding a power head to keep the food free floating and pushed over to the intake.

Not sure size of tank and size of fish and size of food. I agree corydoras principle, but if everything too big for corydoras, also consider clown loach.
