HOW TO KEEP RAY BILL CHEAP

The amount of food will still be the same no matter how you turn it around. I have never heard of fiber food for fish, that keeps them full longer. So it is all about the cost of the ingredients then.

Wrong. Try it. I didn't believe it either till I tried it. It's not the same cause you're adding supplements and you're turning all this to gel.

The best way i have found to save money, time and make things easier is feed pellets..... i ran out and had to feed just smelt and shrimp and i had to feed nearly a pound to my tank... with pellets i can thrown in a handful or 2 and call it a day. I do mix in smelt with pellets but not everyday.... if you search around you can get some high quality pellets for a decent price.

I can feed a couple handful of pellets compared to a pound of smelt, so i say yes it does work that way.....

Okay Alberta guys, walleye master in Edmonton is the cheapest for worms, smelts and a few other things. I don't think I really have a solution to cheap ray keeping, I've never tried a gel but imagine it would be messy. I feed pellets but they are not cheap and I also find them messy. I've looked at different types of pellets for other fish (salmon, trout) and found almost all of them had quite a higher fat concentration in them than massivore or nls but could be purchased alot cheaper. Smelts are the cheapest for me around here for bigger rays but I find they just leave the surface too oily so I'm back to talapia and shrimp, if the gel isn't to messy then I will for sure give this a go. If I had the time I would go out and fish more but with the hours I work and also how little luck I have fishing my rays would starve.
