glass will give off a green tint if your tank is older. I see you have a strip light that has two white bulbs. I had this same problem , you need to put a purple or blue attinic with the white light. That will fix your problem

Take a look at your lighting, When I ran my fish room, it was vital that my tanks all had that "Crystal Clear" appearance. Everything mentioned will have an effect but the biggest is lighting.

You do not have to replace the light fixture just the bulbs, most pet stores will carry quite a variety of bulb "temperatures" but it is important to keep you fishes natural habitat in mind, i.e. river fish expect warmer temps and reef fish expect cooler temps. (temps = light wavelength)

I personally prefer a nice blueish or cool light temperature myself and thus am partial to saltwater.

Sorry if this seems rambling but I hope it helps.

Well I had a tank once that was getting a green tint so I did a 75% water change, boosted my turnover from 5x to 8x, and bought a pleco. Don't know what did the most, i know most people will disagree with me but when it comes to algae on the glass plecos have done wonders for me, but I dont think that would help tinted water

yup, diatom is the clearest water you can get. period.

a very fine (50-100) micron filter sock in your sump will give you incredible results too. this is what i currently use on the 400g. i just swap them out every 3 days or so
do u always use a new one or u rinse the old ones?

My water's so crystal clear you can't even tell there's water in the tanks. Big water changes and religiously cleaning the glass in the insides of the tank does the trick (assuming you've got adequate water circulation/filtration).

wow you always find cheap stuff, ones i find costs 8 bucks -.-

yeah i got sick of paying $10 for these damn things at my LFS. theyre probably buying them from the same site. its the exact same thing! :nilly: and now you have tons of options, all micron sizes :)

yeah, i'm about to register and pay, but before doing that how much do they charge for shipping to canada? do you have any idea? i don't want to do it now and have to get charged alot for international pricing, then when i'd cancel they'd e-mail spam me about promotions and stuff, or that don't happen?
