If you REALLY want to make it cheaper..quit....lol

why is this what everyone says?

im pretty much poor..and i find ways to keep all 11 of my tanks up and healthy.

I buy big lots of stuff..piles and totes full fish equipment for cheap,

last summer i picked up 2 different groups of stuff for 50$ each sold of everything made money and kept what i needed Iv picked up all of my canister filters like this. Most of my tanks were free of under 1$ per gallon ..i just wait for deals on what im looking for to come up or I don't get it. The fish in my tanks cost more than my tanks and equipment did combined.

i don't buy filter pads i buy polly fill at 5$ a bag that lasts me 6 months, I buy pond prime, one 20$ bottle lasts me 6 months or better.

i make most of my own food or raise it my self, i buy food in bulk when on sale.

really there are tons of ways to make this hobby cheaper.

I live on a fixed income ...WAY less than many people on this forum make in a week, my tanks range from 65-3 gallons, nearly all of them planted.

so yes..there are ways to make it cheap with out getting out of the hobby

Sadly I don't think there is ANY way to make this hobby cheap :(. If its not the most expensive then its one of the most expensive hobbies out there.

I agree it's not cheap, but compared to say, my other hobby of building Mustangs, it's DIRT cheap. lol

edit- oh, and I try to always budget build my cars, too! Why spend $1200 for some new headers when I can get em used for $400? Yup.
