How to measure for a bulkhead?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
put a piece of paper against the hole.. trace it from the other side (inside the hole)
take the paper with you to home depot and go to the pvc fitting section.. then just pick your parts.. should cost you under $5 per diy bulkhead.. (they would be just like the ones on the overflows you tossed).. im pretty sure ralleyman (sp) has a diy bulkhead thread somewhere..

I got those parts earlier and they didn't meet my standards. For the money I've already put into this thing I think I will put a few more dollars towards real bulkheads.

here is a link to the DIY bulkhead I followed

I really like the trace it on paper idea, I will look for some other options at home depot tomorrow when I return some of the PVC pieces I bought.

One of the workers told me to go to a plumbing supply a few miles down the road so I might go there tomorrow too. He said they sell bulkheads there but they'd probably be expensive.

If you can use them, go with the electrical plumbimg style "home made" bulkhead. You will save a lot of $ that way.
