HOW TO MOVE 20" TIGER SHOVELNOSE?

hello all, can any one plz tell me the best way to move a 20" tiger shovelnose from one tank to other.

i've tried nets in the past, but when the fish trying to excape the fins ends up stuck in the net and i had to cut it free.

any one have any idea at all??

what about siphoning the water out of the tank and scoop it up in a large enough container or use a stainless steel net.

I have used large plastic bags before for bigger fish. I got in the habbit of saving the ones from the lfs that my fish came in.

a 20" shovel nose is a monster bro, he would most likely rip through a lfs bag,
the biggest bag i've sen lfs have are about 24"wX36"L

I've used towels...let them sink in the tank lower the water level as far down as you can while still keeping the fish submerged... guide it over the towel and yank it out ... No one ever said they would be peaceful when they come out...

it's a wet process but I've never been stabbed and never had a fish get hurt while doing it

agree with bass. towel or a cheap pillow case as a net so when you cut it atleast it was cheap and bought with that in mind, and not youre favorite net.

Yeah I always use a towel or pillowcase for the larger cats when they need to be moved

Get a Koi sock, great for fish this size.

I agree with Bass... or get a large piece of pvc that it will fit in... cap one end, steer it in, and cap the other end, get a friend to help lift it if ya cant cause of all the water... move to other tank and uncap.
But the pillowcase, towel works well
