Sock nets are great but they are costly. Try getting a fine mesh landing net. I just picked one up today for 23 bucks. and I will be netting a few fish bigger then 20" with it. Try looking for a dunhams sporting goods in your area that where I got mine. I just have to cut the handle down a little bit.
trash bags or that fish can be thrown in he cant shock like that.My grandfather moved and had to throw his oscars, catfish, and pleco in a tank right from the foucet because he had no choice and they all lived for a long time
I have moved my 24" tsn a few times and have tried the towel thing with no luck. Fins got all torn up the last 2x's i moved her by hand. Well 2 hands anyways one on her head and one at her tail but u have to be quick and do it at the same time don't let go once you gotem. No injuries yet this way for me but everyone has their own way of doing it. Im kinda thining of trying the koi net next time as I am going to move mine to another tank soon.
Dont be such a pussy and just use a net. LOL. The bigger wide mesh nylon nets(fishing nets) work the best because the mesh is too big for the spines in the fins to get caught. The small mesh nets are the one's where the spines get caught in. Good luck
