How to move the eheim 2262 pump moutning peice ???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There are only 2 places that can cause a leak at the pump in your picture.

The first is the elbow fitting that screws into the pump cover, look and see if it is dripping there. If it is leaking from the elbow at the pump, either the fitting isn't snug (not tight) or the o-ring is damaged or not seated properly.

The second place that can leak is where the pump cover (or volute) is. There is an o-ring on the portion of the pump cover that inserts into the pump.

Check to see where the leak is coming from with the filter running and a flashlight. In order to fix any of the leaks, you will need to unplug the filter, shut all the Q.D. valve fittings and separate the halves so you can service the filter, empty the water out of the filter to make it easier to move and then disassemble the pump from the filter lid so you can check the parts I mentioned.

see the black plate that attaches the 90 to the pump.. is that plate tightened all the way?? if it still leaking than the best solution is the raise that o ring where that plate is... upload pic in a few...

OK, I see more of your pics. I still think the problem may be at the pump cover/volute o-ring.

It is also possible that the pump cover/volute has a hairline crack in it or that the inside of the pump has a hairline crack but I have never seen either of those problems before but that's not to say it couldn't happen.

I think the leak is happening somewhere at the wet end of the pump and is just trickling down around the pump body.

I also have seen what soupa is suggesting when the holding ring that secures the pump cover/volute isn't snug enough. Looking forward to his pics on a fix.

the new pumps that eheim product now have this problem... in order to fix this issue all you have to do is to raise the O Ring just with teflon tape with 2 loops around that indented groove and it should solve the problem...
