Really, there's no better option unless you want to add the extra 'safety line', making it the Bean method. To me, the 3rd line is not needed, as the 2nd line is already the safety overflow for when the 1st line cannot keep up.
I've had the Herbie running on my 180 for the past year without issue or noise.

you got 2 holes in each overflow box, you could run double herbies, or double durso's with 2 returns.
also if i run a herbie, would it be smart to run two pipes with gate valves, one emergency and one return, or one gate valve and one durso?
