how to powerfeed rtc's

not sure if it matters but do you think if i took their hiding spots out and just had an empty tank would make a difference?

awesome, so i took all the hiding spots out and the second the lights were out they devoured the guppies that have been in there for about 2 weeks without them touching them.

so i guess im gonna mix it up between shrimp and feeders and see if i cant get a good growth spurt out of that since they hae finally seemed to take some interest

say no to feeders...first its not GREAT for their health (high chance of disease) plus its pretty bad in the long run in terms of convinience and costs!. u probably wana get them on sunken pellets or shrimp wen they r young...then whole fish from the market wen they grow larger...u will thank me in a year or 2 ;)

yea i know. they have been eating shrimp. but for some reason seemed to have lost interest in it. the feeders they ate tonight have been in there for a little over 2 weeks so im not worried about those guppies having diseases. i just cant get them to eat the shrimp two times a day..

when you do feed them the raw market shrimp do you take the shell off? i have been and not sure if i should be

A lot of the time, I would have to say feeder fish tends to get their growth rate up. I had one that would pack away 2 whole medium shrimps and a cube of frozen bloodworms a day and a dozen minnows once a week. You should be able to get it from 6" to 10" in 2 months or less with that diet.

i thin thats what i might try to do varry up the diet a little... im going to get some bloodworm cubes and 1 or 2 dozen feeders. just to see how if it goes better than just shrimp

just an update.

i went out to the LFS and bought some silversides and dopped a couple in.. and they DEVOURED them, with the lights on. so im hoping the hunger strike is over and they can get back to regularly eating.

and yes for them. the lights on is a big deal
