How to properly use dechlorinator?

i siphon water out with my garden hose and fill it back with my garden hose.. i would never lug buckets around or else i probably wouldn't be in the hobby..

Do you use buckets to fill your tanks?? Doesn't that take a long time?? I just use the garden hose.

ur telling me that ur dumping chlorine water in a tank with fish in it.u need buckets to treat the water 1st.

this reminds me of the python product thread...so confusing

If you add with the python into a sump that is turned off and pre treated you should be fine. If you add slowly to a pretreated tank, you should be fine. I use buckets because I have to add salt to my water.

i always add enough for the tank regardless how much water is changed cant hurt and it soaks up any ammonia in the tank.

The reaction that takes place takes place in less than a second, so it doesn't hurt the fish. I just pour an entire large bottle of dechlor into my pond and get the hose running. If I had to use 5 gallon buckets and dump them, it would take 100 bucketfuls. Besides, the UV sterilzer breaks down the clorine as well.

its cuz if they take a lil whiff of chlorine they will flip over a die just like that.
