How to properly use dechlorinator?

If you add with the python into a sump that is turned off and pre treated you should be fine. If you add slowly to a pretreated tank, you should be fine. I use buckets because I have to add salt to my water.

Been doing it for the last 9 years.
 
The reaction that takes place takes place in less than a second, so it doesn't hurt the fish. I just pour an entire large bottle of dechlor into my pond and get the hose running. If I had to use 5 gallon buckets and dump them, it would take 100 bucketfuls. Besides, the UV sterilzer breaks down the clorine as well.

its cuz if they take a lil whiff of chlorine they will flip over a die just like that.
