I am glad i read this thread this word made me very happy and made my eyes water.----------a defrigrelator--------------I am now going to start unthawing my long lost payara and try to bring them back. I have everything ready. A hospital tank, a spare car battery, a air pump, some compressed oxygen, some air line tubing, latex gloves and mask. ----------come on baby breath.

its awesome some of the fish have survived im glad i read this ...its good to know before it actually happens too and esp with it being winter time....

and the your my boy blue thing almost made me pee my pants... ha ha ha ...im still laughing...

maybe someone said this, but...take a picture of the "dead" fish before you take it out of the bag, since most sellers have a live arrival guarantee. If you revive it, good job. If not, you paid a ton of money to ship and got nothing in return. Bummer.

I laugh. Recalling.... a few months ago the faces of my co-workers as I explained to them that I massaged my Black ghosts heart for almost 20 mins when I came home to my tank that leaked out while I was at work. I don't think that I would attempt this with a fish that I had no connection to but I can't say that I haven't tried to resuscitate a fish.

this is a great thread. ive heard that running water through the mouth and gills can revive a fish-ill remember it! btw, your flowerhorn is a beauty! i would do everything to save it too

i have used mouth to snout on puppies-and it works. not too different from mouth to mouth on a human.

Yes taking a pic is prolly pretty important for an expensive fish in order to get your money back. Unfortunately most transhippers do not cover the fish. It is only covered for getting into the US and not from transhipper to you.
