How to sex rotkeils and red spotted severums?

Venting is the best way for super reds. Rotkeils can be sexed by markings but you'll have to wait until they're 3 - 4" and the mature coloration starts to develop.

Does anybody have pictures of what a male vent and female vent looks like? I can't vent a fish if I don't know wat too look for.

That is just what I have read. Most of the standard ways of sexing severums don't hold true with reds. But I have read that this holds true most of the time not 100%. Venting is the only way to know 100% but mine aren't big enough to vent yet.
