How to silence glass holes.com overflow box

Get in touch with glass-holes, I had the same problem with my 700gph overflow box. They can send you some material to lay across the top of the overflow which will help.

I might be able to get my brother to get a picture of it, since this tank setup is now at his place. The material is called enkamat, it's like a sponge but very open, if that makes any sense.

Like a large pore, open cell foam?
NM, I googled it up to see if it was the same thing that I got here...nope, not even close...

Not exactly sure on that, this is more of a mesh type material. It's open so much that food and such shouldn't get caught in it, that's how open it is. I'll get in touch with my brother to see if he has to clean it often.

UPDATE - My brother did say some food will get caught in it but it's easily washed out without any trouble.

I found it...
Tell me, did it quiet the overflow down? and how much of it did it take?
a few folds or stuffed?

IMO, if you have food going down the overflow, you can either shut off the pump during feedings, don't feed so fast or you might just be overfeeding...

Try to tell my brother he's over feeding! haha because I'm sure that's the problem on that. No folds or stuffing, glass holes sent a piece about the same length and width of the overflow but only about 1" thick or so. My brother claims it helped a lot since it was really loud in his house.

I can see it silencing the splash from dropping between the teeth to the baffle, that Matt looks like it could channel the water and give it a path to flow, rather than random falling...COOL thanks for posting this remedy...

I sent a message to the glass holes guys asking if they'd send me some of the mat or if they had any other suggestions. I'll post whatever they tell me. Thanks again guys.
