I just traded Racersk for this. Now I'm wondering what I can put in it. Roots and a crayfish? Crayfish eat plants and I want plants. So if the cray is out, what else can enjoy a vertical life? Perhaps my dragonfly baby?

I thought about how I'm going to vacuum it. Then -cha-ching- it occured to me: Deep sand bed. So I'll do about 4" of sand in the bottom, then a potted plant. But is something like vallesnaria going to get five feet tall? What kind of plant will get that long without ditching its roots and going floater on me, yet is narrow enough to not completely coat the walls with leaves? I'm not heating it. I will hopefully not need much filtration, either, as the plant/s and DSB should do plenty if I add strong aeration or perhaps a powerhead. And it would be very understocked as well.

Or should I go giant walstad on it?

I wonder if I could hang planters in it at various heights.

Whats the diameter?

I assume it's acrylic? I would make another end for it and try to use it horizontally

Yeah, right. You know how much duct tape that would take?

8" diameter.

OMG AQUA BRIDGE!!!!!!!

I'd use it to create an aqua bridge between two tanks. I have always wanted to do this but have not been able to find large enough clear tubing. It looks amazing and helps to create a larger volume of water for nitrate diffusion.

Here is a poor example of what I'm talking about:

But if you want to have it be a tank by itself, I would stock it with something small. Perhaps just tetras and a betta? I'm not really sure. but I think having an airstone from bottom to top would look amazing.

Aquabridges are for people who can make things.

I don't think any of my airstones are that powerful, but I will use a long tube so that water is pulled up from the bottom by an airstone.

All you would have to do is attach two elbow joints to go into both tanks. PLEASE do it!! It would be awesome especially on two bigger tanks.

"Attach elbow joints" translates to "make leaky places".

So, back to the ghetto with us regular poor folk, now. Without education, tools, or skills, how can I stock this tube? I know white cloud mountain minnows would fare terribly. Maybe a small species of gudgeon?

Brainstorm, shot down:
Betta - heater
Tetras - no room
Crayfish - eat plants
Large shrimp that won't eat plants?!
Some sort of eel-like animal that will enjoy going up and down the tube casually?

Ditch the plants and do the feeder cray?

Awesome fake plants and crays?
