How to tell Retroculus Xinguensis from Lapidifer at 2"?

IMO they are one of those fish that doesn't benefit from overfull stomachs, in the wild they'd be feeding for most of the daylight hours so mean gut fullness at any particular time might not be that high. This may have been a septentrionalis, or could have been a "something else". Was deeper bodied than lapidifer or xinguensis.

it working out great! but even better my xingu is taking pellets now. there .5 mm haha. so he would have to eat half the jar to be full so im going to get some 1mm and see if he takes those.
 
I have been throwing in a mix of 2mm and 1mm. The Retros seem to go after the 1mm for sure. The bigger eartheaters all fight over the 2mm, so it works out well. Glad you Xingu is taking pellets now, yippee!
 
If I went through my slides I could probably work out the exact timescale, but not got the free time to do so at the moment.
 
The xingu has been eating the 1 mm NLS pellets with ease now. He show spangles muh more often now aswell. The lap still doesnt take them but he will eventually. How is everyone elses retros doing?ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1361722089.922027.jpg

All of my Retros are now eating NLS Grow and 1mm Xtreme. ;-)
