Yes it doesn't get any rarer then retroculus lol. But you will see them around more now that the IBAMA list in brazil has them legal to export. That rule just changed in 2012 that's why we have been seeing them around. Before 2012 they were illegal to export and that's why we never saw anyone with them. I just really want the fishermen to go to Guyana and to the rio Oyapock to bring in retroculus septentrionalis cause I want them so bad lol. From what I seen, they look to be the most colorful retroculus in my opinion.

Do you guys think the prices will drop with the export laws being lifted?

I think these prices will pretty much stay the same for wilds.. If someone starts breeding them, F1s should be a bit cheaper.. I'm sure they will not be available for too much longer, this is just the season to collect them. Prob almost the end of season now and then you might not see them for a little.

As for pics, there are not many, and they do have a striped tail like xinguensis. I found a really good pic of a relatively young one, the colors look amazing, very orange dorsal fin with a gold body. I also know they get a orange head because one of the pics showed a top pic of an adult in the wild. Check these pics out.

Can't wait to get some Retros. I wasn't intrigued at all, but after doing more reading and research - totally intrigued now. I think the modified swim bladder activity would be fun to watch.
