How to tell Retroculus Xinguensis from Lapidifer at 2"?

Nope just to enjoy them. If the day comes that septentrionalis become available i will set up a tank just for them and attempt to breed them but if not ill have so nice fish. I was wondering is it even possible for the septentrionalis to be imported to the usa?

Yeah, i wouldn't mind picking up the other specie as well. I wonder if these would every cross breed.

Beautiful xingu!

my lapidifer was just chasin the xingu (the lap is bigger than xingu) a little nothing too serious but do you guys think that i should put my lap in my 55 until the xingu gets settled in more and then try to put the lap back? the tank they are growing out in is a 75.

Should be fine leaving him in there.. The lap is just showing him who's boss. It's up to you though, you can judge it better then us since you can see it first hand. If you see it's really stressing the xingu out badly then you can move the lap out.
