How to tell texas's apart

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was thinking a cyano before, and now im pretty sure it is from your guys's discriptions.

Thanks everybody!

Edit: I'm also pretty sure it isn't a hybrid, only seems to have cyano in him from multiple discriptions and many photos on the internet i have now looked at.

The fish below has spots large enough for carpintis, but small enough to be cyanoguttatus. Spots can't be a sure-fire way to ID a fish, however, it usually works, like modestman said.

I'd say that fish is cyanoguttatus but there's no way to tell for sure that they're pure and not hybrid unless you get them from a reputable dealer or breeder. Spots can also vary in size with each species depending on the location they are collected from so spot size isn't always 100% sure fire but for the most part, larger spots means carpintis and smaller spots means cyanoguttatus.

well I still say it's cyanoguttatus:ROFL: it's not impossible that a website, even the most respectable of websites can make a mistake and mislabel a fish. or there's always the chance that I'm wrong...lol
