im sorry for your troubles fishingout, and yeah thats what happened to my female after she made the male jump she just became all shy and would hide and barely even come out to eat, finally i just got fed up with her and gave her to someone else but sadly she died in their care, but she was like this for like 8months before i re-homed her. it was ridiculous but yes my little guys now is still eating and right out front with the angels at all times so hopefully it stays that way but yeah i will definitely let you know if i find a treatment that gets rid of it for good
and yeah knifegill i know its definitely parasites, my last pair i had i even treated them for parasites and nothing changed and they even laid fertile eggs before the female made the male jump out and parasites would have made them infertile, i actually prefer that it were parasites because then i would have seen it in the small quarantine tank and it would have been easy to treat
