thanks guys yeah hopefully he will continue to do well and if he does then the problem was purely based on diet (which i hope was the problem as it would be easily solved then)
H2O_beasts i soaked the peas in a small amount of tank water with finely chopped up garlic for about an hour or so and then i take them out and squeeze them out of their shell, squish them a little bit and then feed them before i feed their evening meal, so they are very eager to eat them. but my fish are used to eating all different kinds of pellets and stuff so if yours are only used to one type of pellet they may take some enticing to eat something that looks so different (just fast them for a day and then try it again, but make sure to shell the peas and thaw them first)
