how would this sound..?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Rather than listening to fish stores, it's a better idea to use the search feature on MFK and determine for yourself what your fish need (none of us are trying to sell you anything, so our opinion is a little less biased). You keep saying you want a community, but again, without knowing what fish you're talking about, it's hard to determine necessary tank size. So, if you know you want cichlids, try checking out the cichlid threads. You're bound to see a photo of some fish and fall in love. Then, you research that fish and see if it would get along with the fish you have, and how large it gets, etc. Most tankmate combinations have been covered at least once on MFK, somewhere, so it's possible to do this rather quickly using the search tool. If you have any more questions and can't find answers, post your own thread asking those specific questions. This process will save time and ensure you're not limiting yourself because you really don't know what your options are.

as other have said, just dont make impulse buys. look on the forums and internet to find out about maximum size of the fish, compatability, diet, filtration needs, etc. most fish stores out there have idiots working there who can't properly label their own fish.

reconsider your stock. it would be a good idea to get rid of the pleco and keep the oscar by itself or get rid of the oscar and get the JD a mate
