I have a friend who can get me a box of cardinal tetras cheap. I think it's kind of a bribe, but I'm tempted to do it. Maybe resell them after. A box contains between 1000 to 1400 cardinals. I'll have to check to see what else he can get. Maybe 100 Hemiodus gracilis or tiny silver dollars or something else. I'm inclined to do something like that to have the tank up a couple weeks to work out the kinks with something that doesn't cost very much.
Good plan to start out that way. When I built my 600g tank I started with feeders. When it was working good I moved my big SA/CA fish in and they had plenty to eat for a while.
I miss that tank and fish. *SNIFF* *sniff* *wipes tear from eye*
I would go with natives, they don't require heat which saves money in the long run. Plus it's fun to catch little minnows in the lakes and grow them into BIG monsters.
I would have a school of about 8 yellow perch, 10 pumpkinseed sunnies (pretty blue markings) along with 3 large bluegill, maybe a bass or two, 3 bullhead catfish, and a HUGE school of golden shiners. That would be awesome.

What? Oh, You mean the FESTAE. I can't stand when people call festae red terrors. You can always tell people who haven't kept them or really don't know anything about them by that. Nothing personal bud, but I gotta spread the word. Festae, FESTAE, FeStAe!!!
