How wrong is this?

i wouldn't do a goldfish...they're just too unnatural looking...maybe a fathead minnow or something like that

ya but what made him a monster was how fast he grew. normally it takes at least a year for them to get that big, i wish he survived, he could of been huge. i am gonna go and ask the lfs if i can get a goldfish, humanly kill him, and then i will post pix of how to preserve a fish, Experiment397 style!!!

after a year an oscar should be about 12" not 6.5" lol

but he got 6 inches in 3 months!!! also he was my first cichlid, and my biggest(girth, and wieght) fish besides a 7 inch clown knife. and if youd read the other posts he was a gift from my dad.

i have read the whole thread and i wasnt having a dig at what your doing or your reasons for doing it i actually like what your doing i did wonder a while a go when i lost a big fish how people preserve them etc i was just merely pointing out he wasnt a monster and the growth rate your describing isnt far from 'the norm'

Agreed.. both of my oscars were 10 inches PLUS after a year....

ok, point takin on him not being a huge 10 inch monster in a year, but he was only 3 months!!! not a whole year!!! anyway, i will start a thread when i preserve him, look for it if you want to know how i preserve my fish. i am gonna buy another o or a jag, grow them out and see how big i can get them, cause he never made it to his adult size.
