  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No, not a Protomelas taeniolatus aka "red empress". Not sure what it is, looks like a Victorian cross of some type, maybe a hybrid as well. Not sure. Best to buy fish listed by their Latin names, not trade names, and buy from trusted sources.

Thanks yea he changes colors in a split second like a chameleon. Is that normal . He gets aggressive with my Jalo reefs. There about the same size

A change in color and/or patterning such as stripes etc is quite normal in sexually mature mbuna.

. . . Aquariums should ideally be supported at all 4 corners. . .

At the very minimum! Most aquarium makers recommend continuous edge support (or 100% bottom support for plastic tanks.)

But what support you need totally depends on the specific tank. We engineered tanks over 300,000 gallons which required 100% bottom support AND full edge support.

If you look at my cheapo steel Petco tank stand, the tank's on 4 little rubber pads at the corners and nowhere else. It is 100% minimal in that respect.

Most of the larger aquarium companies that supply the aquatic industry, (Marineland, Perfecto, Aqueon, etc) build stands that only support the 4 corners. At least they all used to. I haven't looked at any of their present day builds. Even their stands for 125 gallon, and 240's, were built in that manner. All-Glass was no different.

Check out the cinder block stands that I posted in the past discussion.
