watch out for the oscar trying to eat the pictus. and it may be hard for the pictus to get food oscars are total hoarders. But other than that i'm sure u wouldnt really have any problems!

um the oscar and jack dempsey yes the firemouth yea um the rainbow shark idk much about but i personally know pictus catfish since i love them and the oscar is usually a hog over food as far as i know..so the rainbow shark with the catfish is iffy if you ask and also the oscar is some what aggressive the jack dempsey is iffy to on anger issues lol um make sure there not small and big so they get eaten ex. 5in oscar 3in rainbow shark possible food? thats what i mean but make sure there all ok! =) good luck

OK.....Pictus is out. Possibly Rainbow also. I'll try and find something else to fill that void. Any suggestions welcomed

every fish reacts differently though, as long as they are about the same size starting out, and you have enough space....they could get along great. Just watch to make sure everything goes smoothly.

yeah i have kept pictus with oscars and other aggressive cichlids and its fine, i actually have pictus in my tank right now (though i dont have an O right now) but i think as long you let them grow out a bit first and get the oscar as small as possible then they should all be fine, problems usually arise when you add a small pictus to a tank with an O that is already larger than it. but yeah JDs are more aggressive than Os so you may have a problem there, i would do an oscar with a severum and then 3 pictus and some silver dollars or something to add some more activity to the tank

^^^^ good advice ^^^^^^ :iagree:

Oscar + Pictus is a definite "no" in my book, based on experience (2 dead pictus, and 1 dead oscar)
