HUGE alligator gar taken with bow

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Eating any fish isn't gona help any population so if any one here eats any living animal fish, cow, pig,....etc. then by all means your all the same so it's hypocritical to say that's it's messed up and a shame to eat an ancient animal. You know all living things that we eat the population has tremendously dropped, how do you plan on solving that problem? If you eat meat please don't make stupid comments. As we all know some animals we eat are viewed as sacred animals yet we butcher them for food. So we those who preach it but eat it are no different.

lot of bleeding hearts on here that need to man up or ship out..

Plenty of fish to catch for food, taking the giants out of the breeding population just waters it down for the future. Reckless practices of the past that are now illegal have made their mark, beasts like this are rare. Leave it be.

Its a shame Genetically speaking.

Aquarium gator gars come from farm stocks so doesnt really apply to this thread.

By killing this beast he probably helped the population of gars by allowing more resources for the others.

But this particular dead gar holds the genes for monster offspring and that is the shame. Now another gar is going to take his female and maybe reach 70-90% but most likely not his size.

Im not saying if i was in his position i would not be going crazy filled with adrenaline and excited to bag that bad boy, Id probably Bow that monster too; but we as humans are weeding out certain species life strategy of become big monsterous fish.

The more big guys we kill, the more we push the species to produce smaller fish in the future.

That's assuming that this fish hasn't passed its genes down already. Also I bet ( like many fish living in certain locations) that some of those male gar were her offspring to begin with. So actually other then loosening such a monster it may have no negative effect on he gene pool or the species as a whole
