st louis
went out to st louis mills mall today, and they have an aquarium called pirahna realm there. i think its a new place 2 bucks to get in! they have 12 large tanks if memory serves, they are 4000 gal. anyway i get to one of the tanks and they have a huge jag must have been close to 20in. it was guarding rd fry none the less. tank also had some dovii, midas, and some others. one tank housed som red tail cats, pike cichlids, flagtails, banded leos, pink tails, gg, ray pups, small arrowana, you name it. def worth the 2 bucks. if you are in the area check it out.

If I'm not wrong Parachromis managuense gets to 45cm, max. 45cm = 18". And a 18" Jag is very very very uncommon.

i've seen WC ones that size, even 20"ish-but not a chance if captive raised.-16" max-pics are needed- i highly doubt over 15-16"

for example-- jeox saw a 16" BP in a LFS-- that turned out to be 9"

if the fish was 20", you may have mistaken a dovii for a managuense possibly

hey all i live in aus and at underwaterworld in mooloolaba i saw a jag easily 18inchs plus so believe me they exist i can asure u all.any pics mate?no joke i recently spotted a managuense at my lfs for sale.female 15inchs for sure and males get much bigger.i mean why disbelieve, because u read books.hands on i say.think about it people average 5-6ft some get to 7 dont they.mmmmm...by the way i will get pics of a 18inch plus manny soon and yall will see.i have kept american cichlids for 10yrs and am a fisherman who guesses my catchs size almost spot on so i am confident in what i say.not being smart a**,i just know that big,big mannys r out there, and if ya believe it or not ur call.......thanks.

I did. 12-14"...maybe. Wide angle lens shot from the head down makes it look bigger.

I have NEVER seen a Managuense that was bigger than 16"...in the wild, wild caught or otherwise. I agree...you probably saw a Dovii...or you are incorrect in your assesment of how big.
