Humane Death

A heavy blow to the head or swiftly cutting it off in one blow will instantly kill it, and is possibly the best way....if you have the guts to do it. I personality would totally freak out, and just wouldn't be able to carry through.

Sorry about your eel by the way and DON'T put it in the freezer.

If you get a knife, cut it from the it's back of the head. When you slice through the spin it will kill it instantly, because you've broken the nerve stream, Personally I'd rather an axe because you get the momentum to do the deed in one blow, I know it sounds brutal, but, I think it's for the better of the fish.

Uthanise it right away-
No need to let it suffer-It's the right thing to do......Part of owning up as a pet owner....

Vodka-clove oil mixture is what I suggest......Best way I have found...

:iagree: those are the two most humane ways

Clove oil (not sure where the vodka part came from) is the gentlist way to kill a fish. I use it often for tranquilizing to do procedures on my fish. An overdose will put it to sleep 1st & stop it's breathing after that. I also freeze afterwards.

put him pillow sack and smack it.. knocks them out cold. One hit. Sounds brutal, but it's quick.

the thing is tho is that thats not very humane

depending on how big the eel is put in a blender and hit puree. seriously that how i used to do it when i was a kid and wanted to get new fish:screwy: LIKE I SAID I WAS A KID

When the deed needs to be done… I’ve found the garbage disposal to be the best method…

The fish can be caught and put in a bucket and this is the cruelest part…

Then turn the faucet on… then the garbage disposal… then pour…

The fish knows nothing is any different than the last time you caught him and kept him in a bucket during maintenance… until… zip… it’s all over…

…and the mess is automatically cleaned. No worries about it coming ‘back to life’ either…
