But is there any effects of humidity breathed in over time or anything like that? My dad was arguing with me over this issue with a passion.

not even a problem if you got lids...

Hm so I should keep it at 40-50% humidity huh? Where can I pickup a digital hygrometer at? How much do dehumidifiers cost?

I have a 29gal, and setting up a future 50 gal within this week. Will make my room really humid? Also, my dad is trippin' sayin the humidity may cause some type of health hazard? He says its bad for the body, is there anything true to this sort? Maybe he's talking about mold from humidity I dont know? What do you guys think?

With that small amount of water, it's not going to be a problem.

Humidity in the home should be 35-55%. I doubt those tanks would cause any problems, and I don't htink humidity is bad for you anyway, except that excess moisture will cause mold.

How about any of the sub-tropical countries, way higher humidity than your room. :D

Seriouisly, if you don't have a previous respiratory problem, humidity from these two tanks are not going to cause problems.

Do put close fitting lids on the tanks to help with evaporation and keep up with W/C's so your parents don't start smelling a sour tank and think its mold in your room.

At least your Dad doesn't want anything bad to happen to you, so it's not all bad...

Yea that's true. I doubted there was gonna be problems, but I guess parents gotta take role as parents =D.

Tanks are usually not a problem, unless you have huge uncovered tanks in a closed environment.

thats ridiculous. High humidity is actually better for the lungs and helps people breathe easier because there's moisture in the air and helps allergy patients
