The interview I watched had said it was hurting local businesses in the area. They asked them to move it inside a few blocks away and they refused. The business owners went to the city after that. I think there is a way to compromise but they won't budge about where they will serve the food. As a restaurant owner, I can see why they would push this issue.

read the article. He's been feeding them there for 24 yrs. but thats mighty decent of y'all to judge him negatively for helping others.they should give you 2 some kind of award or something for being so thoughtful, compassionate, and wise.

Why don't you READ the ordinance or respond to any points made on this thread? It's NOT illegal to feed the homeless. Just move it inside or provide the necessary things. Hes intentionaly protesting and you're treating him like a false hero

I bet theres a few dozen other organizations that have made the necessary adjustments and are TRUE heros and still feeding the needy but are being overshadowed by this fake martyr

it's hard to debate with someone with so many straw men at their disposal. I bet if you cut him open you'd get a bunch of hay pouring out his belly

I think sparty's stance is that the old man should be able to feed the homeless anywhere he well chooses and that the city has no right to tell him where he can or can't do it

which is fine if that's how he feels.

but that's where he and everyone should agree to disagree and leave it at that, instead of lowering oneself to flaming and insults

I should be able to hunt and fish wherever I want whenever I want with whatever I want but thats not the case either.

Would sparty call me a hero if i got arrested for protesting that? Do I need to do it for 24 years first?

seems like the old man arrested is just being stubborn.

he's also claiming that they mayor/government is trying to stop the feeding.

which is untrue, they just want to spread the outdoor ones every 500 feet. if there is something about the new law that is illegal then that's another thing.

if the old man keeps this up and ends up in jail then it's really only hurting his charity. can't feed the homeless if you're in jail. I think he should just move 500 ft away, it's not that big a deal and people get fed

So sparty, id like you to find a better not so misleading source next time you post. You posted sensationalized blogs that people pass off as news.

The 90 year old man has NEVER been arrested. Not once. Yet both your headlines say so. He was merely cited

Heres an opinion peace thats clearly biased toward the mayor.
