i talked to them. they followed my exact instruction. nothing out of the ordinary.
what could have caused this???

What were those instructions? Are they adding chemicals? Are they doing water changes?

Not sure what needs to be done if you're only gone a week. Just throw in a decent amount of feeders and you're off.
I went to Portugal for 10 days and left all my boys with about 2 days worth of feeders. Came home everything was fine...

did a 25% wc yesterday and 60% right now. one looks better other 2 worse. will keep updated.

I would add salt and bump temp with the water changes you are performing.
When you say it's getting worse, what do you mean. More skin in the same place is coming off, or skin from other places is starting to come off as well?

water change is important and so is salt. gud luck man.

may have caught a bact infection from the feeders, everything else seems pretty straightforward.

keep up with the water changes and salt, definitely do changes larger than 25%, 70-85% is more advisable.

please post pics of updated condition, if it's bad enough we can revisit using anti-bact meds, although they generally seem to be useless with gars--

I would not trust anyone that wasn't an avid fish keeper to look after my fish even if I was gone for a month. I rather they starved a bit. Simple instructions are never simple enough. It's not what you tell them to do that is the problem, it's what you don't tell them what not to do that usually is the problem.

eg. I fed them 4 feeders a day like you told me. I even gave them some leftovers for dessert. Ooops, was I not supposed to give them dessert?
