That would be like a parent feeding thier child nothing but candy so "they do not starve" by what you are saying, which is exactly what I was avoiding by changing to diet to something healthy. And by the way, it is only starving if I do not offer food at all.
Every fish in that tank was offered a variety of foods and feed twice a day (shrimp, salmon, squid, lobster, talpia, perch, trout, and pellets for large carnivor fish just to name a few), only had one Gar hold out on the diet change for so long, the other two took to it after 6 weeks, the other fish took to the diet the day I started it. Like I said, his choice, not mine.
