Hello,
So I bought a new born baby Red Tail Catfish.
Right around 2'', I put him into one of my convict
pairs tank around 10 gallons.
The male overnight beat up my RTC kind of bad.
Enough to do some fin damage.

I have seperated and i'm keeping the tiny guy alone.
Ive raised the temp to 82 degrees and I've done a 70%
water change the next day.

What can I do more,

Thanks

Have you added any salt? With catfish it's a little tricky because they don't have scales... but 1 tablespoon/15 gallons worked for me.

Don't worry, RTCs are tough. There's a really high chance he'll be okay.

the convict is just trying to make the most of it before he ends up as lunch. rtc are hard fish i had 2 that would fight all the time and try to rip each others fins off. just keep him on his own till he gets some size on. he will be fine.

Ok so I bought a tank seperater the 10 gallons.
The gap is small enough to keep the Male convict away
the female is not a problem. I havent added salt, but I did
increase the the temp to 83.5 degrees and I put a block
of beef heart into a cup and thawed it. The little guy
showed a lot of improvement and has eaten almost the
entire cube which has made it so fat it kind of wobbles
across the botom now.
With the way it got that excited and attacked the crap
out of the beef heart shows me it should be fine.
Out of curiosity can I keep the temp at 83?
I am currently feeding beef heart and super chopped up anchovies.
from the bait section at walmart. (they are covered in salt, which i think will help)
Thank You

something similar happened to my 3 in RTC last week now his fins are starting to grow back and hes eating good but i thought there was no way he'd pull thru but he did...they are tuff ass fish.

I'd wash the salt off of the food before he eats it, they can get burns from undissolved salt no matter what the type is.
