I heave seen that the 2 I have are roasted planked carp. Scale and gut a carp. Nail it to a plank. Roast over an open fire until the meat flakes. Throw away the carp and eat the plank(same as yours). Onions and bell pepper may be added. There is also a recipe for baked carp. Scale and gut the carp and split into two halves. Place a brick between the two halves, cover with bell pepper, onion and salt and wrap in tin foil Bake in an oven for three hours. Unwrap carefully, throw away the carp and eat the brick. It will be better than the carp. Also works with a shingle or, if camping, a river rock. ercnan;1115215; said:I actually caught one a week or so ago with no rod, bait, net, or anything.
I picked up a small 12ft. jon with a 5 hp Merc. and took it to a near by "borrow pit" to check it out. This pit is full of bigheads, and one actually jumped, hit me in the shoulder, and landed in the boat.
Scared the mess out of me at first, but was funny later. (after cleaning up the mess![]()
)
Probably 2-3 pound fish, and man can they jump. That boat motor got 'em stirred up as they were jumping up everywhere behind and to the side of the boat and wake.
Ugly fish though. He's back in the water, not on the bank.
