Hybrid Male Convict?

IMO it's a convict. I don't see a reason to suspect hybrid either.

I agree that it is a LFS convict. Unless you bought from a person who knows its lineage, I wouldn't call it anything else. It's a nice fish and you will enjoy the pair when they spawn.
