hybrid or pure blood p14

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hi all, just to share my experience. I had seem many many hybrid, crossed breed in Thai. It is really amazing when U know who the real parents of these beautiful hybrid rays. I wont be surprise that the ray posted by Bro Tikarmann had pearl blood in it. After seeing so many of these rays, I realised that we can't really predict what blood these rays possessed and who their ancestors were. Thru' very long term captive breeding then we can track the family tree, if just from 2 or 3 generations of breeding wild caught rays, I think sometimes we may see diff pattern appearing fr pure parents.

What I can only say is to keep an open mind, and enjoy what these beautiful creatures.

that said look at blue motoro as soon as they stop eating what ever it is that turns them blue the blue is gone within 3 months

my adults were only fed on pellets once their spots were developed

we will just have to wait and see what happens my p14 never turned totaly black until they were at least 1.5 years old this pup is just 7 months so only half way their

Same with my larger P14 they are all over 12" and about 1.5-2 years old and there still not completely black yet, I was informed this is a very good sign for P14 the longer it takes to turn black the more spots they develope kinda like a good wine only gets better with age.

The pups these animals have produced does not look anything what I know. They have the pattern of an P14 pup only the segnificant color of a P14 pup the light creme color is replaced with orange and not slightly orange but real orange lets see and wait how it devellops.

Is'nt it right, that P14 and Pearl rays share the same habitats in the Rio Tapajos!?
That means, Hybrids between this two species should happen at least sometimes in nature! And therefore, it could undoubtly be possible, that in some litters of two "absolutely pure looking" P14, some Pearl-Blood could sometimes come through, resulting in natural hybridisations from a far time ago......sometimes, sowhere next to Jacareacanga......;)!!!
