I don't like them because IMHO they are mutts and muddy pure bloodlines of recognized wild fish. There's enough diversity that occurs naturally.

There are endless answers and opinions....I like the hybrids as long as they are labeled hybrids and not fancy name like flowerhorn or respectocons.

Yes only certain strains/breeds. I do not like a mixed up breed when I am after a true pure bred fish. Like Trimacs.

i love hybrids especially firemouth, convict, and jd crosses because they have great personalities and are interesting to look at.

i dont see anything wrong with them as long as they are controlled and labelled as hybrids. i do hate hybrids that cant do simple bodily finctions such as closing their own mouths and swimming properly or if they have parts missing such as tail fins, ie blood parrots. breeding in deformities like that really annoys me.

i can see the purists side though, nature has done a damn fine job at giving lots of diversity already.

I know exactly what you mean.

I think there dumb, and can't understand why people are willing to spend so much money on them.

High prices should be reserved for rare wild caught fish that are hard to import not what some joker breed in their basement.

Only thing that gets me even more mad is when fish are dyed colors or injected with some glow stuff.
