Hybrids?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hybrids in "nature" are subject to the pressures of survival of the fittest, with weak and substandard individuals being killed by the forces of nature, and in so doing, only robust individuals survive, and spawn.
In aquariums, more often than not, substandard (although they may be colorful) individuals survive because lack predatory pressure, and even more damaging, the use of antibiotics. (duck lips anyone?)
And in amateur aquarist tanks, the lack of proper culling, which allow weak immune system individuals to pass of even weaker genes.
Although not a hybrid, consider the Electric Blue Dempsey, bred for color, yet in general, a very weak and easily compromised variant.
