I'm looking to get two of these and was wondering if theres a control or something on there to were you can control the power of the flow. I'm looking at getting two to help keep debris off the sand but not sure what size to get. There going in a 150 that has two FX5's. I'm looking at the 1200gph ones but not sure if that would be to much thats why I was wondering if I would be able to turn them down if need be.

Thanks

No way to turn them down but the gph rating is BS IMO. I have an Odyssea (sp?)powerhead rated at 500gph and a Hydor4 and the Hydor is half the strength of my Odyssea.

You plug them in and they go.They have a attachment that you can put on them to get a more direct flow from them, but you cannot dial it down. They are plug and play. I would get 2 Koralia 4's for a 150.

Ok thanks I'm just looking for something to keep the debris off the sand and create a little current in the tank. For a 150 with two fx5's 72x18x25 would you suggest two Hydor 1500gph or something else?

Ok thanks man that just answered my question I posted same time you was writing this. Thanks again

As fishbum posted, I'd run 2x 4's on a 150. I thought based on the gph rating that the 4 would push my ray poop into my filter pick up in my 180 and it did not cut it. I wanted to replace my Odyssea because w/ the prefilter it's kinda bulky. I ended up using the Koralia in my 125 and it kinda works and I just kept the Odyssea in my 180.

Ok thanks thats the same think I'm wanting but not from rays I'm just wanting any poop or food that hits the bottom to be blew over to the filters and be gone. So hopefully two Koralia 4's one on each side and hope that does the job.

On a sand substrate the 4's are gonna blow the sand right down to bare bottom...and maybe into the FX5's impeller...;(

Do you think I will be able to get them at a angle to were it will just blow over the top? Or do you think a regular powerhead that blows a straight stream work better?

I just added my second fx5 a couple hours ago and right now I have the two fx5's on each side and a penguin 350 in the middle running gonna leave the 350 on there until the fx5 cycle. Only problem spots are the middle and under the caves on each side. Right now I have an Oscar and 5 clown loachs in there but gonna move them to another tank and start over. When ever they swim over the surface they kick a bunch of debris up and its floating around everywere the filters clear that up but as soon as they do it again theres more. Ive never had this probelm before but never had a tank this big my next biggest tank is a 75.
